Love and Faithfulness: Lydia's Story

When you empower mothers, you change generations. Heal Ministries empowers women and inspires change in their lives and their family. Heal Ministries comes alongside women and mothers to strengthen and empower them to support their family and grow as women of God. One mother we get to walk with is Lydia.

Lydia is a family woman through and through. Devoted to her family and to caring for and nurturing the next generation, her life is a beautiful example of balancing work and motherhood. Lydia joined the YMCA to obtain her preschool teaching certificate. She not only received her certificate, but she also met her husband. After working a year at Mustard Seed Nursery School, she learned about Heal Ministries and wanted to be a part of the work we were doing. 

Lydia and her husband have two wonderful children, Zion and Amal, whom they love deeply. At Heal Ministries, Lydia not only is empowered to earn money to ensure that her children have food, education, and anything they need, but she is empowered to go to work with her children. She knows that they are in a safe space while she's at work because they are with her. She's empowered to balance motherhood and working in a unique way, where she gets to raise them and teach them even while at work. 

Lydia brings so much creativity to her classroom. She fosters teamwork and learning in the preschool, and she helps them dream big and achieve their goals. As she has been empowered, she is now empowering four and five year olds in the classroom to learn and grow. She is currently pregnant with baby number three--she's due any day!! What a wonderful mother, teacher, and woman she is!
